I can drive but I cannot afford to run a car at the moment. I have been used to having a car my whole life and I am starting to feel a bit cut off. I live near to a supermarket and to work and so having to walk to those places is actually helping to keep me fitter and I have been finding walking to be a pleasant experience, especially in good weather. However, if I want to visit family and friends I am finding it hard.
Some of them live on bus routes or they come to see me, but my parents and sister live too far away for me to take a local bus and they are not near to bus stations or trains stations and they cannot get to see me very well. I have therefore been looking into Fulham car rental as an option to help me out. I think that it will be a good idea if I can hire a car for a weekend and then go and see them. It will certainly be a lot cheaper than running a car permanently. I have seen a few good deals at the local car hire place and I think that I will look in to it. This way the cost will not be unaffordable, it will be easier than all the changes on the train and a taxi at each end and I can even take them out and about a bit while I am there.

Getting to your hotel can be a bit of a struggle. The train station is often a tube and an over-ground train from the station you arrived in London at and even then the hotel is another twenty minute walk away. By the time you get to bed, you’re absolutely shattered and fed up with public transport. I can empathise with many people who love this. The train journeys aren’t too bad, relatively straightforward and, let’s be honest; a 20 minute walk isn’t that bad. The thing is, if you enjoy walking then it really isn’t an issue. But even if you are an avid walker I would still recommend that you hire a car instead of relying on your own two feet for the whole time.
You can walk everywhere in London but a lot of people underestimate the distances involved. Professional marathon runners take 2 hours to run 26 miles through London and if you want to fully appreciate the city then you will have to walk much further than that. It would be crazy to think that you can walk everywhere from Fulham. If you want to go and see a play in the evening, there is no way you can walk there and back without losing the next day because you’re tired. Hiring the car removes this problem and makes it much easier to see London. It does not prevent you from being able to walk everywhere because you can still do that. All it does is give you another option.
