If you are flying away somewhere there are a few options to consider when deciding how to get to the airport; drive and park, public transport, or taxi. For those that don’t want to leave their car at home, and would prefer to know it was protected somewhere by CCTV, security fences and regular patrols, driving to the airport is a good idea because car parking there is second-to-none and pricing isn’t as extortionate as it used to be either. However, some people might be the complete opposite of this and would much prefer to leave their car at home out of harm’s way, and out of the way of other people who may well bang their door on it, bump in to it, or damage it in some way. Business users may find it acceptable to use public transport, especially the rail network, to get to their destination airport, but it would be impractical for a large family, or one with young children – where do you put all the spades and buckets on a packed train? With rail prices what they are today it might even be more expensive than taking the car!

This leaves the idea of a taxi. For a group of people going away, a taxi can work out very economical as large ones can seat many people and have plenty of space for luggage; the cost can be shared between all the passengers leaving it at quite a low rate. This also means that there is little chance of you getting lost – an airport taxi driver will know their way to every single airport in the country from almost any pickup spot, rather than you navigating first time to an airport at the other end of the country!
